Your student account requires 2FA (two factor authentication) sometimes known as MFA (multi factor authentication).
When signing into your account for the first time, you will be prompted to set up 2FA.
The Microsoft Authenticator app is our preferred method, but text message is also available.
CHANGING/UPGRADING YOUR PHONE
The Authenticator app is tied to your physical phone. It will not transfer to your new phone like other apps.
Whenever possible, set up authenticator on your new phone before wiping the old one!
Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info to add the app to your new phone.
